South Africa’s FlySafair has been named the most punctual airline in the Middle East and Africa, achieving an on-time performance rate of 91.06% in 2025, according to Cirium’s annual On-Time Performance Review.

The airline operated 98.9% of its scheduled flights, keeping cancelations among the lowest in the region.

The rankings are based on more than 25 million data points from over 600 sources, making it one of the most trusted benchmarks of operational performance worldwide.

FlySafair has consistently ranked among the world’s most punctual airlines, since launching operations in 2014 and has earned multiple global awards for on-time performance.
The airline says the achievement reflects its commitment to operational discipline and coordination.

Cape Town International Airport handles record 11.1 million passengers in 2025

The Cape Town International Airport has reported its busiest year on record, handling 11.1 million two-way passengers in 2025, the highest in the airport's history.

The month of December alone saw 364 000 international passengers and 754 000 domestic passengers.

A total of 3.3 million international passengers passed through Cape Town in 2025, a 7% increase from December 2024.

The airport recorded a total of 1.12 million passengers, breaking festive-season records for both the city and province.
Wesgro CEO Wrenelle Stander says the figures show that Cape Town is on track to double tourism by 2035.
