Fuel prices expected to ease in January
Story 2
South African motorists could see some relief at the pumps in the new year.
Early projections from the Central Energy Fund suggest petrol prices may decrease by around 15 to 17 cents per litre in January.
Diesel prices are expected to drop further, with indications of a decrease of more than one rand per litre.
The potential reductions are linked to lower global oil prices and a stronger rand. Final fuel price adjustments will be confirmed by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy by 7 January 2026.
