A group of young South African students have came up with a tech-based solution to improve and grow the tourism sector in the country.
The team, The Catalysts, have built a platform that allows communities to showcase their cultural heritage through interactive technology to attract visitors.
Their innovation recently won first prize at the G20 Tourism Hackathon.
Team member, Khanyisa Mokgolobotho told the SABC that their Hologram Hub gives communities a voice, connecting innovation with identity:

The City of Cape Town has introduced a summer holiday programme to keep children safe, active and engaged during the school holiday season.
The programme includes activities like sports, coding, movie screenings and reading.
The City’s Recreation, Parks and Library teams will host the activities at community facilities, offering parents supervised options while keeping kids active and learning during the break, especially around December.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to make use of these services to help keep young people occupied and away from unsafe environments.

Instagram has introduced an AI-powered feature called Your Algorithm, allowing users to see how their reels feed is curated and adjusted in real time.
The tool shows topics the app thinks users like and lets them boost or reduce how often those subjects appear.
Meta says the update improves transparency and keeps feeds relevant as interests change. The feature will first launch in the US with a global English rollout to follow.
