Village of Hope brings support to Mgongo community

Village of Hope is continuing its efforts to support vulnerable children and families in the Mgongo informal settlement.
More than 150 community members recently received a meal and sweet treats as part of the organisation’s ongoing outreach work.
The organisation is also preparing to provide learners in the settlement with school shoes and clothing to help them attend school with greater dignity and confidence.
Village of Hope says its work includes feeding programmes, mentorship and other initiatives aimed at supporting children and families in the community.

Avocado project set to grow jobs and opportunities in Limpopo

More than 600 members of the Makgoba community in Limpopo are set to benefit from a multi million rand expansion of an avocado farming project outside Tzaneen.
The project brings together the Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency, commercial farming group ZZ2 and the Makgoba Mamphoko Trust, helping turn community owned land into a commercial farming venture.
The funding will support the expansion of avocado production while creating employment, developing skills and opening opportunities for local businesses. Makgoba Asset Management general manager Thupane Makgoba says beneficiaries have already started benefiting from the project.

Astro Kids organisation gives back to Pimville children
Story 3
The Astro Kids and Adult Organisation has brought support to children in Pimville through an outreach programme at Paul Mosaka Primary School.
With the help of donations from supporters, the organisation provided children with a hearty meal of soup and bread, along with snacks and fruit.
Pre-loved clothing was also distributed to help support children and families in the community.
The outreach was aimed at making a positive difference in the lives of children while encouraging people to come together and support those in need.

Westel Creager had promised Haiden Hauret that he would attend her graduation if she got into medical school, and she went on to study at his alma mater.
After a long career in medicine, Creager was there to watch his great granddaughter receive her white coat and take the next step towards becoming a doctor.
