Gauteng Expands Smart Licensing Access

Motorists in Gauteng have more options to access licensing services through Smart Licensing Centres at shopping malls and transport hubs.
The centres are available at Protea Glen, Maponya, Denlyn, Atteridgeville, Mnandi and Umphakathi malls, as well as Gautrain stations in Centurion, Midrand and Sandton, and Waterfall Park in Halfway House.
They are open from 8am to 5pm on weekdays and from 9am to 3pm on Saturdays.
Services include driving licence renewals, learner’s licences and vehicle registration.
The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport says the centres are aimed at reducing waiting times and making services more accessible.

Businesses Unite to Support Children Cancer

An initiative by the Everyday Kindness Charity Foundation has brought businesses, volunteers and a cancer support organisation together to support children living with cancer.
Volunteers worked as waiters at Panarottis Clearwater, which donated 10 percent of the evening’s turnover to Cupcakes of Hope.
The event also raised awareness ahead of National Cupcake Day on September 26.
Cupcakes will be sold at more than 80 shopping malls across South Africa, with funds raised going towards supporting children with cancer.

Tshwane Youth Programme Benefits 1,500 Young People

The City of Tshwane says over one-thousand-500 young people have benefited since the launch of the Ithuba Youth Economic Development Programme in February.
The partnership between the metro and several governmental, NGO and private sector entities aims to increase the number of economic opportunities for young people.
