Blind Cricket South Africa has wrapped up a two day Disability Career Expo in Midrand, using the event to introduce more people to the sport and the opportunities it can create for people with visual impairments.
Learners from different schools took part in blind cricket demonstrations, giving them a chance to experience how the game is adapted for visually impaired players.
The organisation says the expo also helped create conversations around accessibility, inclusion and equal opportunities for people with disabilities.

South African skateboarders get direct path to global finals

South Africa hosted its first KARDO World Series national qualifying event in Kimberley, bringing local skateboarders together with international talent from countries including China and Germany.
The competition gave local athletes the chance to qualify for the global finals, while professional skater Jean Marc Johannes says it also gives South African talent valuable exposure to the international market without having to leave home.

A cat named Toast has been found alive and reunited with his owners more than three days after a devastating apartment fire in Utah.
Toast went missing when residents were forced to evacuate the five storey building, which was badly damaged in the blaze and took more than 60 hours to extinguish.
Rescuers eventually found the cat hiding in a closet, wet, cold and frightened but otherwise healthy. His remarkable survival has also drawn reactions online, with many people pointing out the irony of a cat named Toast making it through a fire.
