Ace Models Johannesburg North hosted a recycling fashion show at Fourways Crossing, giving young models hands-on skills in design, creativity and problem-solving by turning waste materials into clothing.
It promotes environmental awareness by encouraging reuse of plastic, paper and fabric instead of throwing them away.
The project also builds youth confidence and provides a platform for talent development in the fashion industry.
Director Cathy Heaton says the aim is to help young people grow in confidence while learning to create with purpose and responsibility.

Seseko, in partnership with Microsoft South Africa, has rolled out the first phase of an AI, robotics and coding programme in 48 under-resourced schools across all nine provinces.
Learners are being trained through hands-on robotics kits and digital tools, while teachers are being equipped to introduce coding and technology in everyday classroom lessons.
The programme is designed to build digital skills in schools with limited resources and improve access to future job opportunities in the technology sector.
Organisers say the initiative aims to reduce the digital skills gap and support long-term youth employment in a technology-driven economy.

Two University of the Western Cape alumni, Shaqeel Less and Makhi Mangxola, developed Uthutho, an AI-powered platform that gives commuters real-time public transport updates, route information and pricing.
They won the 2026 Red Bull Basement South Africa title and will represent the country at the world final in San Francisco in June.
The platform uses GPS and community input to track routes, reduce waiting times and help commuters plan safer trips.
It also allows school transport operators to list services, helping parents compare routes, costs and safety options.
