Alberton Eisteddfod Supports Hospice Children With Essential Donations

The Alberton Eisteddfod committee has partnered with Stepping Stone Hospice to support children receiving care through its Children’s Unit.
The committee recently donated diapers, wet wipes and other hygiene essentials, with collection bins also placed at Eisteddfod venues so parents, teachers, learners and audiences can contribute throughout the festival season.
The partnership is also helping raise awareness of the hospice’s Brick by Brick campaign, which is raising funds for a new 14-bed facility to expand care for patients and their families.

Bedfordview Community Launches Four-Month Animal Food Drive

A Bedfordview community group has launched a four-month donation drive to collect food for animals in need.
The campaign will culminate in an eight-kilometre Christmas walk through Bedfordview on December 25.
Last year, the walk collected 450 kilograms of animal food, with this year’s donations going to Edenvale Ferals, Edenvale SPCA, Johannesburg SPCA and Feral Carer NPC.
