A Bedfordview community group has launched a four-month donation drive to collect food for animals in need.
The campaign will culminate in an eight-kilometre Christmas walk through Bedfordview on December 25.
Last year, the walk collected 450 kilograms of animal food, with this year’s donations going to Edenvale Ferals, Edenvale SPCA, Johannesburg SPCA and Feral Carer NPC.

The 2026 Comrades Marathon charity drive has raised more than R2.2 million for CHOC, supporting children and teenagers affected by cancer and life threatening blood disorders.
A total of R2,275,815 was raised through the Amabeadibeadi Charity Drive, with runners, supporters, sponsors, donors and The Cows contributing to the campaign.
The funds will help CHOC continue providing support to young patients and their families.

UP Campaign Helps Graduates Finally Access Their Degrees

The University of Pretoria’s Degrees Delivered campaign has raised more than R11 million to help graduates who have completed their studies but cannot access their degree certificates because of historical student debt.
The three year campaign aims to raise R50 million and help about 1,500 graduates unlock their qualifications for employment, further study and professional registration.
So far, close to 200 degrees have been delivered, with support from donors, alumni, companies and other partners.
