Ferndale Church Collects Pads For Girls

The CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa has received funding to support its work with children and teenagers affected by cancer and life-threatening blood disorders.
The organisation received more than R2.2 million from the 2026 Comrades Marathon charity drive.
The funds will help CHOC continue supporting young patients and their families with free emotional and medical support during treatment and recovery.
The money was raised through contributions from runners, supporters and donors.

Daveyton Learners Join Literacy Festival

A total of 166 learners from nine primary schools in Daveyton took part in the first Phamisa Buka Literacy and Cultural Festival.
The festival, hosted by the Phamisa Buka Foundation, included spelling, read-aloud and cultural performance competitions.
Moshoeshoe Primary won both the Spelling Bee and read-aloud competitions, while Ntsikana Primary came first in the cultural performances.
The event gave learners a chance to put their reading, spelling and cultural skills to the test.

The Limpopo Heritage and Food Festival will showcase indigenous food, local traditions and storytelling.
The festival will be held on the 26th of September and 3 October, with masterclasses also included in the programme.
