Skud Jou Vleis Braai Raises Funds for Children’s Home

The Skud Jou Vleis Braai Competition took place on Saturday at Adelaars Restaurant and Venue in Pretoria, bringing together 27 teams to raise money for the President Kruger Children’s Home.
The community event combined family fun, good food, and a chance to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
Since its launch in 2023, the event has raised over R161 000, funding projects such as a minibus for the home.
This year, organisers aim to reach R200 000 to replace old mattresses, providing the 63 children with safe and comfortable sleeping spaces.
Funds were raised through sponsorships, donations, prizes, and contributions, with organisers emphasising the importance of community support in improving the children’s well-being.

Guinness World Records has confirmed Nigerian chef Hilda Baci as the holder of a new title for the world’s largest serving of jollof rice.
The dish, weighing 8,780 kilograms, was cooked in Lagos last week in a pot six metres wide.
The effort required tonnes of rice, onions and oil, and drew cheers from about 8,000 supporters.
