A festival celebrating African cinema and contemporary culture ran in Moscow and Saint Petersburg from 7 to 15 October 2026, bringing African films, fashion, dance and visual art to Russian audiences.
The fourth edition of the festival featured ten films from across the continent, including works from countries such as Rwanda, Egypt, Mozambique, Nigeria, Angola and Senegal. The programme also included an exhibition of contemporary African art and a tribute to Senegalese filmmaker Ousmane Sembène, known for his contribution to African cinema.
Organisers say the festival aims to give audiences a broader understanding of Africa beyond the headlines, using creative work to share the continent’s stories, experiences and cultural diversity.
