Artists, activists, and leaders earlier this month gathered at Sandton's Inanda Club --to launch the Real Economy Campaign.
Led by advocacy organisation Crtve Development, the movement demands recognition of care, safety, and women's financial inclusion as the foundation of Africa's growth.
The campaign urges the G20 to adopt the Johannesburg Goals, aiming to reduce gender gaps in work, pay, and unpaid care by 35% within a decade.
The launch featured "Faces of the Real Economy," a striking photo and film series showcasing the often-overlooked contributions of caregivers, teachers, nurses, and coaches, highlighting their dignity and labour.
