Umalusi ready to administer 2025 matric exams

Examination quality assurance body, Umalusi, says all systems are in place to ensure that more than 1-million registered candidates write their final exams in a credible and secure environment.
The exams will take place across more than 9,400 examination centres nationwide.
Addressing the media, yesterday Umalusi’s Senior Manager, Dr Mary-Antoinette Dliwayo, said the body’s detailed audit of the Department of Basic Education, the Department of Higher Education and Training, the Independent Examinations Board, and the South African Comprehensive Assessment Institute found that the system is ready to administer the exams:

"Grandad's Army" social cycle club cycle for child surgery

A group of 10-men, mostly in their 60s and 70s, are cycling 1,500km across South Africa to raise funds for child surgery.
The "Grandad's Army" social cycle club has reached the halfway point of their 14-day ride from Mapungubwe to Buffalo City.
They are raising money for the Eyabantwana for the Children Trust to pay off the remaining 300-thousand-rand balance for a flexible gastroscope, a vital tool for diagnosing and treating serious conditions in children.
The scope is already in use, and the "g-dads" are now focused on fundraising to cover the costs.
