The agricultural magazine Farmers Weekly together with FarmTalk and other industry partners hosted a charity golf day at Randpark Golf Club, to raise funds and awareness for farmers affected by the ongoing foot-and-mouth disease outbreak.

Organisers and farmers say the event was about more than golf, highlighting the importance of unity in protecting farms, livestock and the agricultural sector.

The funds raised during the event will help support the Agri Relief Foundation, which provides assistance to farmers that are affected by the disease.

Alma Mater learner selected for National Netball championship

An Alma Mater International School learner, has secured selection for the South African Indoor Netball Federation championships.

The competition oversees competitive action netball and selects national teams for international tournaments, including the 2026 World Indoor Netball Association Super World Cup.
The SAINF operates within Action Sports arenas, focusing on fast-paced seven-a-side and six-a-side competitions across various age divisions for both men and women.

The school’s head of sports, Thapelo Wolf, says the organisation selects training squads and national teams across senior and age-group categories, including U15, U17 and U23 levels.

SA's U-17 national football team heads to Morocco

The South African under-17 national football team has traveled to Morocco for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations which will run until the 13th of June.

Coach Vela Khumalo announced a 21-player squad for the tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The team reached the knockout stage at the World Cup late last year and will hope to qualify for their second global showpiece.
