The Ministry of Water and Sanitation and the Mayor of Tshwane are conducting a visit in Hammanskraal today to check progress on two important water projects.
They are inspecting upgrades at the Rooiwaal Wastewater Treatment Works and the building of a new plant at the Klipdrift Water Treatment Works.
This inspection is part of government efforts to improve water services in the area.

Minister Gwede Mantashe says 159 Mines have been opened

South Africa has opened 159 new mines in the last five years, creating over 15,000 jobs.
This was confirmed by Mineral and Petroleum Resources ,Minister Gwede Mantashe in response to a question in Parliament.
The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources oversees a structured application process for setting up new mines.
To speed up and improve the process, the department has introduced an online licensing system to make applications more transparent and efficient.

The Grammy Award-winning singer, whose real name is Laura See-thal, will host the event in Santa Monica, California, on the 25 June.
