Town Square at Newmarket in Alberton has been named the country's top retail design and development at the 2025 Spectrum Awards.
Since opening in 2024, the centre has become a favourite spot for locals, with more than 100 food, drink, and craft vendors.
Last Thursday, almost 100 delegates toured the precinct, exploring shops, restaurants, and night-market areas.
Senior management, led by Riaan Jonker, welcomed the visitors, showing them how the centre operates and sharing its impact on the Alberton community:

Johannesburg Zoo celebrates 122 years

The Johannesburg Zoo is celebrating 122 years of wildlife conservation and education this March.
People born between 1 and 31 March can visit the zoo for free during the month, except on 21 March, which is the zoo’s official birthday celebration day.
The zoo is home to more than 2,000 animals from about 320 species.
Visitors can also take guided tours, enjoy picnics and join educational activities during their visit.

Festival of Motoring returns to Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit

The ninth Festival of Motoring returns to the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on 28 August.
Visitors can test new vehicles on the main circuit and a dedicated self-handling track, with more than 10,000 track drives planned across over 40 vehicles.
More than 20 automotive brands will take part, offering both track and off-road driving experiences.
The festival also provides viewing areas for families and a suite for guests aged 16 and older.
