Mandela Day Walk Run To Bring Thousands

This year’s Mandela Day Walk and Run is expected to take place on the 19th of July at Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium. Launched in 2021 with just 100 participants, the event now expects over 10-thousand walkers and runners across three distances. Inspired by a route Nelson Mandela once walked in Houghton, the event aims to honour his legacy of unity and service. The foundation’s Mbongiseni Buthelezi that they plan to expand the event in the near future: SOUND

The countdown to Africa’s greatest horse racing and fashion event, the Hollywoodbets Durban July, has officially begun. Taking place on Saturday, 5 July, at the renowned Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse, the event will be headlined by some of South Africa’s most celebrated music talent, delivering a spectacular showcase of live performances and DJ sets. In addition to Zolani Mahola singing the national anthem, the star-studded music lineup includes Mafikizolo, Lira, Hot Water, GoodLuck, DJ Dalootz, Lee Cole and Sunset Sweatshop. Beyond the races and live music, attendees can expect dazzling fashion displays, gourmet hospitality experiences, and vibrant social energy that has made the Durban July a highlight on the countries national calendar.

Giving Doctor Gets Back Financial Support

A doctor in Baltimore’s poorest neighborhoods spent the last four decades serving its residents with a forget that dollar bill policy. Michael Zollicoffer, known to his patients as Dr. Z, never turned anyone away, even if they couldn’t afford to pay. The 66-year-old told reporters that no what, when a person walked through his door they would be seen. A few months ago Dr Z was diagnosed with a double dose of cancers, one renal and one rectal. He also discovered that his own insurance had lapsed and his treatment was going to cost about $150,000. An online GoFundMe campaign began and his very own patients raised over $280,000 to cover his costs.SOUND
