The Reach for a Dream Foundation celebrated 38 years of making dreams come true for children living with life threatening illnesses.
A special celebration was held at the Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital in Parktown, Johannesburg, where children and their families enjoyed entertainment, cake, and fun activities.
Since it was founded in 1988, the organisation has fulfilled more than 30 000 dreams, continuing to bring hope and joy to children across South Africa.

Blind bowling champion to represent South Africa at world championships

South African lawn bowls star Tracy Smith has been selected to represent the country at the International Blind Bowlers Association World Championships in New Zealand next January.
Competing in the B1 category for bowlers who are completely blind, Smith earned her place after building an outstanding competitive record. Since losing her sight in 1986, she has gone on to win 11 world titles and 21 Parabowls gold medals, earning the nickname the Golden Girl of bowling.
Smith says she hopes to bring home three gold medals and help South Africa lift the team trophy.

School Based Support Team coordinator Hluphi Shili provides daily meals for between 300 and 400 children, using grocery donations from local businesses and community members, while also contributing her own resources.
The initiative supports learners from informal settlements and surrounding communities who rely on school meals during the school term.

NFL Flag Africa Championship showcases the continent's rising talent

History was made in Nairobi as the inaugural NFL Flag Africa Continental Championship brought together the continent's top national flag football teams for the first time.
The tournament featured men's, women's and Under 13 teams from South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria and Egypt, as the NFL continues to grow the non contact version of American football ahead of its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
South Africa claimed bronze in the men's and Under 13 competitions, while Egypt won the men's title and Nigeria lifted the women's trophy. NFL International Head of Flag Development Afia Law says the inaugural tournament is an important milestone for flag football in Africa.
