Through moving stories and dynamic talent showcases, attendees challenged societal attitudes and misconceptions about disability.
Head of Disability and Inclusion, Lana Roy, said the event was about recognising strength and potential in every young person.
Afrika Tikkun continues to position itself as a champion for inclusive youth development, committed to building futures where everyone is valued.

A powerful Women’s Day concert featuring international and local music heavyweights is set to honour the spirit of South African women through song and storytelling.
Presented by Soulful Night SA and Vertex Events, the show will take place on 9 August at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, starting at 12pm. It marks the anniversary of the 1956 women’s march, when 20,000 women took a stand against apartheid pass laws.
The lineup includes US R&B stars Joe and Anthony Hamilton, alongside local favourites Zonke, Sjava and Vusi Nova .
Organisers say the event aims to celebrate women’s strength and impact through music that resonates across generations.

Johannesburg Roads Agency Tackles Potholes in Ward 115

The Johannesburg Roads Agency has repaired more than 40 potholes in Ward 115, including on Cedar Avenue West, Elm Street, and Willow Road.
Councillor Mark van der Merwe said many of these potholes had been an issue for months, and the recent repairs are permanent fixes built to last.
Residents are urged to continue reporting new potholes directly to JRA with location details and photos to help speed up repairs.
More than 90 potholes have been fixed in the ward over the last month, with a new round of repairs planned in the coming weeks.
Van der Merwe highlighted that teamwork between residents and JRA is essential to keeping the roads safe and driveable for all.
