Story 1
The Shimuzic Foundation, by Ashley Raphala popularly known as DJ Shimza, has donated 3,000 pairs of school shoes to children across Gauteng as part of its ongoing Hopeful Soles initiative.
The handover took place on Tuesday at the Rabasotho Community Centre in Tembisa, reaching 52 schools and 33 children’s homes in Tembisa, Soweto and Mamelodi.
The Hopeful Soles programme focused on supporting orphans and vulnerable learners, ensuring they received shoes before the start of the academic year.
Shimza says the initiative is about restoring dignity and confidence, not just providing school shoes, and the project aims to do more each year in response to growing needs.
