Home Affairs services made easier for SA citizens abroad

South Africans living abroad can now collect passports at more international centres, including locations in Canada, the UK, France, Germany, the USA, UAE, Australia, New Zealand and China.
The Department of Home Affairs now offers services in 25 global cities, making it easier for South Africans overseas to get passports, register births and get their renewals done.
From 1 November 2025, the department also delivers passports directly to applicants’ homes, with fees ranging from about R520 to R1000.
These services reduce travel, waiting times, and administrative hurdles, making passport access faster and more convenient for citizens worldwide.
