Blind Cricket Expo Wraps Up in Midrand

Blind Cricket South Africa wrapped up its two-day Disability Career Expo at the Vodacom Dome in Midrand on Friday.
The organisation demonstrated blind cricket and involved learners from different schools in activities during the expo.
BCSA also shared information about the sport and opportunities for people with disabilities, including participation and skills development.
The event brought together learners, visitors and organisations to promote inclusion and accessibility.

Botswana Artist Wins 2026 FNB Art Prize

FNB Art Joburg has named Botswana artist Kelebogile Marope as the winner of the 2026 FNB Art Prize.
Marope is the first artist from Botswana to receive the award, now in its 16th year.
She will receive a cash prize and a solo exhibition at the Johannesburg Art Gallery in 2027.

Boulders Beach Ranks Among World’s Best Beaches

Boulders Beach in Cape Town has once again earned international recognition, ranking 20th on Big Seven Travel’s list of the world’s 50 best beaches for 2026.
The Simon’s Town attraction is known for its sheltered waters, granite rocks and endangered African penguins.
Visitors can swim in designated areas and view the penguins from boardwalks but are urged not to feed or touch the wild animals.
Boulders previously ranked 12th on the same list in 2021.
The beach forms part of Table Mountain National Park and remains a major tourism drawcard.

Springboks Step Up All Blacks Preparations

The Springboks have stepped up preparations for their four-Test Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series against New Zealand.
Coach Rassie Erasmus says the squad has recovered well following last week’s 17-10 victory over Argentina.
The travelling squad returned to South Africa on Monday and Tuesday, and spent much of the week recovering before resuming full training on Friday and Saturday.
The series begins at Ellis Park on August 22, followed by Tests in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Baltimore in the US.
Erasmus says the Boks are ready for the challenge and will fine-tune their preparations during the week.
