Bryanston Primary celebrates former pupil driving sports charity for youth

A Johannesburg varsity student and Bryanston Primary alumnus, Ross Goodwin, has returned to his former school to inspire learners through his charity Play It Forward Jozi.
The initiative collects gently used sporting equipment and redistributes it to underprivileged communities across South Africa, helping young athletes access gear they would otherwise not be able to afford.
The school has also pledged support for the project through its community outreach programme, strengthening efforts to expand its impact to more schools and sporting clubs.

Cape Town residents are set to come together in Claremont on Saturday, 18 April from 9am to 1pm for a 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day initiative as part of World Creativity and Innovation Day.
The gathering will see volunteers bringing handmade blankets, wool donations and shared meals, all aimed at supporting vulnerable communities through the nationwide movement.
Organisers say the event continues to grow as South Africans use creativity and knitting to provide warmth and dignity to those in need.
