Community Cleaners and Fairland residents have been improving local parks through clean ups, fencing and repairs.
On Saturday, volunteers cleared litter from the spruits at King and Wilson Park and Union Jack Park.
Residents also raised R70 000 to install a gum pole fence around Union Jack Park, keeping vehicles out and making the space more welcoming for families.

Village of Hope brought meals and support to residents of Sallies Hostel in Brakpan as part of its ongoing community outreach programme.
Residents received a meal and sweet treats during the visit, which was supported by Siyabonga Africa, Rise Against Hunger and Pick n Pay Mall@Carnival.
The organisation also runs feeding, clothing and mentorship programmes for vulnerable children and families.
