Sasol New Signatures Visual Arts Competition Opens In Pretoria

The Sasol New Signatures Visual Arts Competition is showcasing emerging South African artists at the Pretoria Art Museum, with this year’s exhibition running until the 8th of November.
The competition provides a platform for artists to gain recognition and opportunities to develop their careers in the South African art industry.
This year, 123 artworks were selected from 938 entries submitted across the country.
Johannesburg artist Sphumelele Zondi was named the overall winner for her mixed media work, The Laundry Of A Nation, receiving R100,000 and a solo exhibition at the museum in 2027.

The Isibhedlela Kubantu programme will target communities in eDumbe Local Municipality in the Zululand District, with healthcare teams visiting underserved areas.
The teams will include doctors and nurses using mobile clinics and outreach vehicles to provide vaccinations and other essential health services.

The government has established a new Renewable Energy Training Centre at Ingwe TVET College’s Ngqungqushe Campus in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape.
The centre will provide training in skills needed for the growing renewable energy sector and South Africa’s Just Energy Transition.
The facility is also designed to expand access to post-school education and training for young people in rural communities.
