A church in Ferndale is collecting sanitary pads to help schoolgirls who struggle to afford menstrual products.
The Fellowship Full Gospel Church donated more than 250 packets to schools in Zandspruit last year and is now targeting 1,000 packets.
The drive aims to support schools in Zandspruit, Cosmo City, Kya Sands and Ferndale, helping girls stay in class during their periods.
Donations can be dropped off at the church at 311 Pine Avenue in Ferndale.

This year’s campaign is targeting 28 facilities that have not previously received Santa Shoebox gifts.
People can pledge a complete shoebox with clothing, toiletries, school supplies, sweets and a toy, or make a monetary donation.
Pledges are now open, with drop-off information available online.

Learners have planted 20 indigenous trees, taken part in nature walks and learned about the impact of waste burning on air quality.
Schools have also held Trashion Shows, with learners turning recyclable materials such as cardboard, plastic and newspapers into clothing.
WESSA says the programmes are giving young people practical ways to reduce waste and care for their environment.
