2nd phase of Lilian Ngoyi Street construction project begins

The City of Johannesburg will begin the second phase of the Lilian Ngoyi Street construction project in the CBD, following the completion of road repairs.
While the first phase focused on restoring the road, the second phase will concentrate on enhancing the precinct’s visual appeal.
The corridor was reopened to traffic on Friday, following more than two years of closure after it was damaged by an underground gas explosion.

The Bank of Botswana has unveiled a new 50 pula banknote to celebrate its 50th anniversary and honour Olympic sprint champion Letsile Tebogo.
The commemorative note features Tebogo’s portrait alongside the Botswana men’s
4x400m relay team, who won silver at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Tebogo, who claimed gold in the men’s 200m, becomes the first Botswana athlete to be featured on the country’s currency.
President Duma Boko says the note recognizes both the Bank’s milestone and Tebogo’s remarkable achievements.
