Seshego Ultra Marathon raises funds for underprivileged learners

The annual 50km Seshego ultra-Marathon, wrapped up on Sunday at Limpopo’s capital city of Polokwane.
A total of 548 police officers representing teams from different provinces, took part in the SAPS 21km National Half Marathon championship and the Ultra Marathon race journey from from Mankweng to Seshego Stadium.

Proceeds from the marathon will go to the Seshego Marathon Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the lives of learners from underprivileged families.

The Foundation is dedicated to helping children with reading difficulties by providing them with reading glasses, empowering them to excel academically and unlock a brighter future.

Botswana has unveiled a new 50-Pula banknote featuring the country’s first-ever Olympic gold medalist, Letsile Tebogo.

The commemorative note was revealed on Friday as part of the Bank of Botswana’s 50th anniversary celebrations, marking a symbolic tribute to Botswana’s historic achievements on the world stage.

Relay teammates Busang Kebinatshipi, Anthony Pesela and Bayapo Ndori also feature on the new note, cementing their place in Botswana’s sporting history.
The sprinter will compete in the 100m final at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, in Japan.
