Mahikeng Learner Wins International Cancer Research Honour

Mahikeng learner Brandon Mashandudze has been named an American Lung Cancer Scholar for his research into how artificial intelligence could help detect lung cancer earlier.
The Grade 9 learner at Curro Mahikeng earned the recognition through an international competition run by the American Lung Association.
His research explores how AI could support early detection and help doctors assess lung cancer risks.
Mashandudze says AI should support doctors rather than replace them, by helping them analyse information and potentially identify signs of disease earlier.
