South Africa and UK sign MoU to accelerate infrastructure development

Public works & infrastructure minister Dean Macpherson and UK minister of state for trade Chris Bryant have signed a memorandum of understanding on infrastructure collaboration between the two nations.
The signing of the MoU will see the UK provide expertise and capacity support worth nearly R10 million to South Africa's infrastructure development efforts.
Macpherson says the collaboration aims to accelerate high-priority projects, improve public asset management, and create jobs, while turning South Africa into a construction site.

The City of Cape Town’s firefighters walked away with 13 gold, 10 silver and one bronze medal at this year’s Toughest Firefighter Alive competition.
Baigum Abrahams retained her title as the Toughest Female Firefighter Alive for the third year running, but shared the top spot with Thobeka Senatse.
Safety and Security Mayoral committee member, JP Smith, says more than 250 firefighters and 44 relay teams from across the country participated in the competition, and they were joined by teams from Botswana and Namibia:
