SALT remains the largest optical telescope in the Southern Hemisphere and is responsible for a number of new discoveries, from Black holes to observing a kilo-nova.
Learners and community members gathered with representatives of the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation and the South African Astronomical Observatory at the Roggeveld Intermediate School in Sutherland, to mark two decades of scientific achievement and community partnership.
