Festival organisers selected 24 films from 13 countries to compete across several categories, with winners to be announced on 16 June.
The nomination follows renewed attention on Khoi and San history after President Cyril Ramaphosa officiated the reburial of 63 ancestral remains in the Northern Cape earlier this year.
