An SPCA inspector in Vereeniging was able to continue a rescue mission after a member of the public stepped in to help when her vehicle became stuck in deep mud.
The inspector was on her way to assist a dog in distress when the vehicle got trapped, delaying the urgent call-out.
A local resident, identified as Sean Chesworth, provided a tractor and staff to recover the vehicle, allowing the inspector to continue with the rescue.
The SPCA says the assistance highlights the importance of community support in animal welfare work.
