Children from 20 pre-schools in Mamelodi East marched to raise awareness about children’s rights. The event, organized by Rainbow Forum, aimed to teach children about their rights and important issues like drugs, HIV/AIDS, and abuse. The march started at Section A1 in Mamelodi West and ended at Softball sports grounds, with support from police, social workers, and the community policing forum. The children carried placards with messages about children’s rights. This annual event gives children a chance to speak up for their well-being.

New Zealand rejects Certain Birth Names

New Zealand currently has some rather strict naming rules and has been rejecting names. In 2023, they rejected royalty-based names like Queen, Royal, and Bishop; and this year the country is doing it again. same thing is happening. According to an Official Information Act inquiry, nearly 60,000 babies were born in New Zealand last year; and dozens of names were rejected. The most rejected name was King. According to the New Zealand Law Society, names should be less than 70 characters long, and will not be accepted if it “resembles an official title or rank.
