Story 1
To mark International Nurses Day on 12 May, The Grove Mall surprised frontline nurses at Die Wilgers Hospital in Tshwane with 500 gift bags as a token of appreciation for their vital role in South Africa’s healthcare system.

Nurses, who make up 56% of healthcare providers in the country, received bags filled with movie tickets, vouchers, snacks, and beauty samples, with 50 nurses lucky enough to get a vanity case for their next holiday.

Julie-Anne Claassen, General Manager at The Grove Mall, described the visit as a heartfelt way to recognise the quiet strength of nurses, while nursing manager Ivan Meyer said it was a special moment to feel truly appreciated.

For a brief time, the carers became the cared for, reminding everyone of the dedication nurses show every day.

Government Unveils Digital Roadmap to Streamline Public Services and Boost Access
Story 3
The South African government has launched a new Digital Transformation Roadmap aimed at making it easier for citizens to access essential services.

Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Solly Malatsi, says the plan will unify government services on a single, user-friendly digital platform, improving identity verification, payments, and data sharing.

Part of Operation Vulindlela Phase II, this initiative promises seamless access to government services, reducing barriers and making interactions more efficient and cost-effective for all South Africans.

The Presidency has set up a Digital Service Unit, led by tech pioneer Melvyn Lubega, to oversee this transformative effort.

Malatsi emphasises that this roadmap is about building a more inclusive, reliable, and people-centred government — giving citizens back their time and expanding access to opportunities.
