The Johannesburg Roads Agency says it is confident that the first phase of the rehabilitation work on Lilian Ngoyi Street, is progressing according to schedule and remains on track for completion by the end of August.

The Johannesburg Roads Agency acting CEO Lufuno Mashau said, beyond the visible construction, the crucial project involves the complex reinstallation and relocation of essential stormwater and sewer pipes.

Mashau said proactive measures have ensured that construction remains on schedule, with 43% of the project scope already completed and 60% of the service tunnel completed.

The team topped the medals table at the World Athletics Relay Championships in China.

The men's 4 by 100 meters and 4 by 400 meters won gold, while the women's 400 meters team took bronze and the mixed 400 meters team finished 5th in their final.

All four teams have qualified for the athletics world championship which will held in Japan later this year.
