The initiative brings together ward leaders, businesses, waste collectors, community groups, and the City of Johannesburg to encourage recycling and cleaner neighbourhoods. Founder Duduzile Ntuli says the project aims to address persistent illegal dumping sites and foster sustainable waste practices. As part of the programme, the BinPack app was introduced to support recycling, create a circular economy, and provide opportunities for local businesses and waste collectors.

Young members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Pathfinders took to the streets of Newlands in Johannesburg yesterday marching together to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. Area coordinator Delight Major explained that, as the church is new to the area, they felt it was important to host an anti-drug campaign to support and engage the community.The march also highlighted other social challenges such as crime, violence, mental health struggles like depression, and the impact of broken families. At the same time, the young participants promoted messages of unity, hope, peace, and community support.
