Access70 launches youth employment programme SA

Access70 Workplace Launchpad, by NPI governance solutions, has been introduced in South Africa to help bridge the gap between graduation and employment for young people.
The programme includes a week-long training bootcamp and eight-month workplace placements through the Youth Employment Service, with stipends of up to R8,500 a month.
Speaking on the Feel Good Fix last week, Project Lead Lindi Kekana said the programme gives graduates practical skills and direct access to work opportunities:

Usizolwethu School gets R2m upgrade funding

Usizolwethu Special Needs School in Daveyton has received a R2 million investment from Vodacom to improve digital learning for learners with disabilities.
The funding has been used to install computers, internet access, upgraded learning spaces, and a solar power system to keep classes running.
The project forms part of Vodacom’s School of Excellence programme in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Education.
It aims to give learners better tools and more equal access to education and opportunities.

Smile Foundation performs life-changing surgeries nationwide

Hundreds of children have received life-changing surgery across South Africa through the Smile Foundation’s Smile Week Programme over the past six months.
A total of 173 patients were treated for conditions including cleft lips, cleft palates, facial paralysis and severe burn scarring.
The programme is funded by donors and supported by specialist medical teams and volunteers.
