Mandela Day Walk and Run to take place on the 19th of July

This year’s Mandela Day Walk and Run is expected to take place on the 19th of July at Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium. Launched in 2021 with just 100 participants, the event now expects over 10-thousand walkers and runners across three distances. Inspired by a route Nelson Mandela once walked in Houghton, the event aims to honour his legacy of unity and service. The foundation’s Mbongiseni Buthelezi that they plan to expand the event in the near future:

Francois Rossouw named 2025 Agri Western Cape Young Farmer of the Year

Francois Rossouw has been named the 2025 Agri Western Cape Young Farmer of the Year. He manages a 300-hectare table grape farm in De Doorns, Hex River Valley. The award celebrates leadership and excellence in agriculture. Accepting his award, Rossouw highlighted the sector’s role in job creation and food security. He will now move on to represent the province at the national competition later this year. The provincial agriculture department’s Mogale Sebopetsa told SABC News that young farmers are key drivers of South Africa’s economic growth:
