Alberton church women knit for babies in need this Mandela Month

The Alberton Methodist Church Women's Association marked Mandela Month by spending 67 minutes knitting and crocheting warm items for babies while preparing care bags for local hospitals.
The group has already packed 60 care parcels and is preparing another 150 care bags for newborns and mothers at Bertha Gxowa and Thelle Mogoerane hospitals.
Members also shared knitting skills and thanked the community for supporting the initiative to keep babies warm and cared for.

Metro officer's act of kindness helps stranded motorist

A Durban Metro Police officer is being praised after helping a stranded motorist continue his journey with a simple act of kindness.
Mduduzi Gwabin was travelling from Durban to Stanger when he realised he did not have enough cash to pay a toll fee. After unsuccessfully asking others for help, he approached Metro Police officers, where one officer used her own money to send him enough to continue his trip.
Gwabin later thanked the officer, believed to be Officer Chamane, and encouraged others to show Ubuntu by helping people in need whenever they can.

The Blood Brothers Motorcycle Club visited Samaritaanhuis in Boksburg, donating clothing, groceries, stationery and household essentials to support children and families in need.
The club also treated children to motorcycle rides, sweet packs and a fun filled morning, while providing grocery parcels to nearby families.
Organisers said the visit was about meeting the community's greatest needs and bringing smiles to those they support.
