The Sandton SPCA is asking the community to donate unwanted household items and books to help fund its animal welfare work.
The organisation sells donated goods through its charity shop and second-hand bookstore, raising between R200,000 and R250,000 a month for rescue operations, sterilisation programmes, vaccinations, and animal rehoming.
The SPCA also collects donations from residents who cannot transport items to the shop.

A study by AllClear Travel Insurance has ranked South Africa’s Kruger National Park as the world’s 10th-best birdwatching destination.
The study assessed 115 birdwatching locations across six continents using factors including bird species numbers, climate, access, and visitor costs.

Touching Dreams Hosts Charity Gala

Touching Dreams will host its annual gala dinner at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg on 31 July, with proceeds supporting Reach For A Dream, the Endangered Wildlife Trust and the Touching Dreams Think Big Academy.
Jesse Clegg will headline the event, alongside performances by the Wits Performing Arts Department and Moving into Dance.
