Keith Boyd uses record run to inspire African youth
Story 2
Keith Boyd is using his record-breaking Cape Town to Cairo run to empower young Africans.
Through his organisation, Rainbow Leaders, he encourages youth to take action, believe in their potential, and use their voices to create change in their communities.
Boyd’s 301 day run, completed in 2024 across nine countries, was more than a feat of endurance. It was a way to raise awareness and funding for educational and leadership programs that support young Africans.

New Antarctica Vault Saves Climate History for the Future
Teaser / Tailpiece story

Scientists have sealed ancient glacial ice inside a new sanctuary in Antarctica to protect vital records of Earth’s climate before they disappear.

The first ice cores from the European Alps are now stored in a natural snow cave at Concordia Station, where extreme cold keeps them frozen without machines.

Ice cores trap tiny air bubbles, dust and chemicals that show how the planet’s climate changed over thousands of years.

As glaciers melt around the world, this project ensures that this irreplaceable climate history is saved, giving future scientists the chance to better understand climate change and prepare for what lies ahead.
