Tshwane is bringing back its annual New Year’s Eve festival for the first time since 2019.
Mayor Nasiphi Moya said the celebration at Fountain Valley will reunite communities and honour residents’ spirit after years of Covid disruptions.
The festival will feature up to 40 artists and DJs, including Tuks Senganga, Fifi Cooper, Kamo Mphela, Boom Shaka, K.O and Kwesta.
Visitors can also enjoy local food markets and a spectacular midnight fireworks display to welcome 2026.
City officials say safety is a top priority, with risk assessments, medical support, transport plans and food safety measures in place. The event will be free and aims to showcase local talent, boost tourism and provide families with enjoyable entertainment.

Cell C has donated new digital labs to Gamagara High School in the Northern Cape and Kagisho Combined School in the Free State. The labs are equipped with laptops, a high-performance server, projectors, and Cell C connectivity to support interactive digital learning.

Thousands of Golden Retrievers Fill Buenos Aires Park

Nearly two thousand four hundred golden retrievers and their owners gathered in Buenos Aires on 12 December 2025 for what is believed to be the largest meetup of the breed ever held.
The dogs assembled at the Bosques de Palermo park, surpassing a previous unofficial record set in Canada.
The event was organised through social media and attracted participants from across Argentina. Volunteers registered each dog to ensure an accurate count and safety was maintained throughout the gathering.
