The SPAR Carols By Candlelight event has raised over 927-thousand-rand for charity, bringing festive joy to South Africa.
The event took place earlier this month at the SunBet Arena in Menlyn, selling more than 7,000 tickets and drawing over 10,000 online viewers.
Funds helped provide 1,200 Santa Shoeboxes and R20,000 each to 13 children’s homes through Good Morning Angels, while nearly 200 staff members at partner organisations received SPAR hampers.
The initiative reached 24 communities across 4-provinces.

Stek-Kinekor's December Throwback Cinema

South African cinema giant Stek-Kinekor has revealed its December Throwback Cinema lineup featurig Shrek the Third, Madagascar 3, and Miracle on 34th Street.
First introduced in May last year, Ster-Kinekor offers cinemagoers the chance to watch classic films on the big screen for R50 per ticket.
Each film will be shown for a week-long rescreening at selected Ster-Kinekor theatres.
The theatres participating in Throwback Cinema are Sandton, Eastgate, and Cresta in Johannesburg; Brooklyn, Irene, and The Grove in Tshwane; and Mall of Africa in Midrand.
Ster-Kinekor chief marketing officer Lynne Wylie says the Throwback Cinema is their way of giving audiences the chance to experience, or re-experience, some of the world’s most memorable films.
