          Story 1
Five Eldorado Park primary schools have launched the Purposeful School Recycling Programme to teach learners about waste separation, recycling, and environmental responsibility.
Gauteng MEC for Environment Ewan Botha joined the launch, stressing that educating children is key to reducing landfill pressure, improving air quality, and creating jobs in the growing waste economy.
Purpose Recycling’s Shannon Boer said early education builds lifelong habits, while the programme also supports broader efforts to close and rehabilitate overloaded landfill sites like Goudkoppies, ensuring cleaner, safer communities.
