South Africa’s national women’s rugby team received its official send-off to the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Sandton on Wednesday evening.

The squad will travel to the United Kingdom ahead of the first match which will take place in less than 10 days.

The South African national team will take on Brazil in their opening match on Sunday the 24th of August.
The tournament marks a crucial opportunity for the team to showcase their talent and continue to inspire the next generation of female rugby players.

NWU Lecturer named finalist in 2025 Forty under 40 Awards

North-West University senior lecturer, doctor Moleboheng Mokhele-Ramulumo, has been selected as one of the finalists in South Africa’s Forty Under 40 leaders for 2025 in the Education category.
The awards aim to celebrate 40 South African leaders under the age of 40 who demonstrate impact through leadership and innovation.

The university says a key project that contributed to Mokhele-Ramulumo’s recognition is the ReneWable Rangers protect which introduces early learners to renewable energy through storytelling, play and cultural relevance.
