Tourism Month Launched

SA Tourism, in partnership with the Gauteng Tourism Authority has launched Tourism Month, which kicks off on the 1st of September.
The celebrations will end on World Tourism Day, on the 27th of September which shows how tourism helps economies grow and connects people to different cultures.
The CEO of the Johannesburg Tourism Company, Thandubuhle Mgudlwa, speaks on the prospects of Tourism in Johannesburg:

South Africa Take On Australia In Rugby Championship Test

South Africa will take on Australia in the first Rugby Championship Test of the season at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg tomorrow.
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department is encouraging all rugby spectators who will be heading to the Stadium to utilise the various alternative transport options available.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla says due to limited parking at the stadium, he strongly encourages people to use the Park-and-Ride system to avoid traffic delays:

Three South African Youth Selected For Global Youth Leadership Council

Three South African champions have been selected for the 2025–2027 Global Youth Leadership Council.
Lumka Ndileka Gogela, a driven athlete leader, Zamangwe Lebogang Mazibuko, and their mentor Busangani Mazibuko will be stepping onto the world stage at the Special Olympics.
The trio will be among a group of 16 top youth leaders from across the globe, each bringing their voice to a council that stretches over all 7-Special Olympics regions.
The Council will play a major role leading up to the 2027 World Games in Chile, where inclusion takes centre stage.

9th Mzantsi Jazz Awards To Honour World-Renowned Jazz Icons Themba Mkhize & Dr Jonathan Butler

This year's Mzantsi Jazz Awards will honour world-renowned Jazz icons Themba Mkhize and Dr Jonathan Butler with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter/guitarist Butler received an Honorary Doctorate from Stellenbosch University in March and pianist and composer Mkhize has been part of renowned jazz collectives such as Sakhile and Bayete.
Previous recipients of the award include Abigail Kubeka and late drummer Louis Moholo, and Letta Mbulu.
The 9th edition of the Mzantsi Jazz Awards will be held on 30-August at the University of Johannesburg.
