Navy Festival returns to Simon’s Town with free entry

The 2026 South African Navy Festival returns to Simon’s Town this weekend, taking place at the East Dockyard ,with free entry.
Visitors can enter the naval base, tour vessels including a Type 209 submarine, and watch live demonstrations by search and rescue and firefighting units, along with performances by the SA Navy Band.
The event gives the public access to the base and showcases naval operations in False Bay.
Metrorail Western Cape will run hourly trains between Cape Town and Simon’s Town over the weekend.
