Big Blanket Project brings warmth to Pretoria East communities
Story 1
The Big Blanket Project in Pretoria East has grown into a volunteer initiative providing essential warmth to vulnerable communities across the city.
It began in 2022 when two friends started meeting weekly to knit and crochet items for those in need, and has since expanded to more than 30 volunteers gathering at the PHSOB Club every Monday.
The group has produced over a thousand blankets, along with beanies and scarves, which are distributed to shelters, outreach organisations and families affected by hardship.
The project continues to rely on wool donations and community support to sustain its work.
